Over 500 online continuing education courses are available through the library’s Universal Class subscription provided by PLAN (Panhandle Library Access Network).Courses include: Accounting, Computer Training, Homeschooling, Crafts & Hobbies, Test Prep, and more! Register with your library card number. Please ask a staff member if you need assistance setting up your free account.

Book Clubs

Several of our locations have book clubs that always welcome new members!  

Beach Book Club (Zoom/In-Person Hybrid Program) meets every 1st Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. CT. /11:30 a.m. ET. There is a featured book each month. Email Sharron at shill@nwrls.com for book and Zoom invitation. In-Person meeting in the Panama City Beach Public Library meeting room. 

BCPL Book Club (Zoom/ In-Person Hybrid Program) meets every 2nd Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m. CT / 12:30 ET.  Email Rachael at rfillingame@nwrls.com for Zoom invitation or meet in the Bay County Public Library Meeting Room.

Chapter Chat meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. CT at the Panama City Beach Public Library. WJHG News Channel 7’s Jessica Foster and Mel Zosh select the monthly titles and lead the book discussion. Light refreshments provided. 

Library Book Club meets on the third Monday of the month (unless there is a holiday that shifts the date) at 10:30 a.m. at the Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Public Library in Port St. Joe. Contact the library at 850-229-8879 for the monthly title. 

Busy Bee Readers Book Club meets one Monday a month at 2 p.m. CT Please contact the library at 850-639-2419 for date and book club title. 

The Book Buzz meets on the second Thursday of the month at 2 p.m. ET at the Jimmy Weaver Memorial Library in Hosford. Join us for a cup of tea as we share our latest favorite book. Each month we will explore a different theme or genre. 

Winter Programming

Every winter, several of our branches offer a series of continuing education programs geared for lifelong learners. The Bay County Public Library, Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Public Library (Port St. Joe), and the Panama City Beach Public Library usually offers a set schedule of programming.  This year will have a Virtual Programming through Zoom or pre-recorded and released on our Facebook pages.
