• Ancestry Home Town Ancestry.com has both free and pay databases for genealogists. 
• Bay County Genealogical Society  Wonderful information, including cemetery, marriage and obituary indexes, as well as a list of families currently being researched.  
• Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. Information on millions of soldiers and sailors who fought in the Civil War. 
• Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet A huge collection of web links to all things genealogical. 
• Family Search  The LDS (Church of Latter Day Saints) files of contributed genealogies. 
• Florida Confederate Pension Files (Series 587).  Over 7,300 pensions (119,832 color images) are currently available online and may be searched by surname or pension application number. Includes both approved and denied claims. The project is unfinished but expected to be finished by year's end. 
• The Genealogy Page  From the National Archives and Records Administration, describes holdings and how to search the National Archives database. 
• GenForum Search for a forum on your surname or region. 
• Official Land Patent Records (Eastern States)   From the Bureau of Land Management, these are records for 12 eastern states, including Florida and Alabama. The period covered is 1820-1908, and there are links to other land record resources for each state. (Not available 12/14/01)
• Rootsweb  The Internet's oldest and largest genealogy site. Although it remains free to users, RootsWeb is now sponsored by Ancestry.com, whose databases can also be searched from this site. 
• Social Security Death Index (SSDI)  The index is maintained on the RootsWeb server. 
• Vital Records Information State Index A directory of state, county, and town offices from which you can request copies of birth and death records 
• USGenWeb or try the Alternate address A cooperative effort of volunteers to have a Web page for every state and county in the U.S.  /
• World Connect A huge database from RootsWeb.
